About UVSA

Overview

United Valley Soccer Association is a federally recognized, 501(c)3 non-profit, youth soccer organization and is incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. UVSA places an emphasis on having fun through the teaching of soccer fundamentals. United Valley Soccer Association administers both a fall and spring program for the youth of the Redbank Valley, Dayton and Clarion areas. Currently, both programs are operated as recreational leagues for children age four to twelve, offering year round opportunities for local youth to be involved in, and to learn the game of soccer.

History

United Valley Soccer Association is a proud league with a rich tradition. The league was originally founded in 1987 as the Redbank Valley Youth Soccer Association. Serving the youth of the Redbank Valley School District, the inaugural season saw a league comprised of four teams and approximately 60 players. Over the next 15 years, RVYSA continued to grow in numbers as it expanded its service area to include teams from Clarion, Dayton, Knox, and the Redbank Valley. In 2001, the RVYSA directors changed the name of the organization to the United Valley Soccer Association. The name emphasizes the process of "Uniting" the local areas for one common goal - promoting youth soccer.

UVSA's dedication to the promotion of soccer in our area has lead to the formation of varsity teams at Redbank Valley, West Shamokin, Brookville, Keystone, Clarion and Clarion-Limestone High Schools. Our league has habitually produced solid soccer players which have been the catalyst for those high school soccer programs. Several of our players have gone on to play at the collegiate level. Today, UVSA sponsors over 25 recreational and competitive travel teams while serving approximately 300 area youth soccer players.
