United Valley Soccer Association's spring soccer program is administered by our local SAY area affiliate, North Star Soccer League. The League is comprised of over 20 districts throughout north-western Pennsylvania. The program is a travel program focusing on improving teamwork, enhancing skills and having fun through competitive soccer. The spring season lasts 6 weeks from the beginning of May through Father's Day. Games are typically played on Sunday afternoons but some Saturday games may be scheduled. Home games are played at Pottery Field in Hawthorn, PA and away games at locations such as Brookville, Brockway, and Punxsutawney.
United Valley Soccer Association sponsors teams for the U12, U14, U16, and U19 age groups. The U12, U14 and U16 teams are co-ed, but separate girls and boys teams may be formed based on player interest. In the U19 age group, North Star Soccer prefers separate boys and girls teams. However, co-ed teams may be formed if there is not enough player interest for separate boys and girls teams. Teams may be formed in the following areas: Redbank, Keystone, Dayton, and Clarion/C-L.
In the past, coaches have held 1-2 practices through the week. However, United Valley Soccer allows our coaches to determine when and how often they want to practice. North Star Soccer regulations permit practices to begin no more than two weeks before the first scheduled game. Coaches will contact players regarding practice schedules.
Included in the registration fee are one soccer jersey and one pair of matching color socks. These are required to be worn during each game. Each player is also required to provide a pair of shinguards and a pair of black shorts. Soccer spikes are recommended but are not required to play.
Registration opens on January 1st and ends on February 15th of each year. United Valley Soccer currently accepts spring registrations by mail only.
