United Valley Soccer Association's fall soccer program is a self-administered, recreational program for youth players ages four to twelve. Players must be age 4 as of July 31st of the current year. The program focuses on having fun, teaching teamwork, and developing skills through recreational soccer. The fall season lasts approximately nine weeks beginning in late August and ending in mid to late October. Games are typically played on Saturdays, but some Sunday games may be scheduled. All games are played at Pottery Field in Hawthorn, PA.
United Valley Soccer Association sponsors teams for U6, U8, U10 and U13 age groups. All teams are co-ed and every effort is made to evenly distribute boys and girls between teams. UVSA currently forms teams in the following areas based on a player's home school district: Redbank Valley, Dayton, and Clarion.
In the past, coaches have held 1-2 practices through the week. However, United Valley Soccer allows our coaches to determine when and how often they want to practice. Practices will be held at UVSA approved sites in your local area. UVSA regulations permit practices to begin no earlier than August 1st of each year. Coaches will contact players regarding practice schedules and locations. Parents can expect to hear from coaches in late July or early August.
A complete soccer uniform consisting of one jersey, one pair of matching color socks, and one pair of black shorts is included in the registration fee. These are required to be worn during each game. Each player is also required to provide a pair of shinguards to be worn under the socks. Soccer spikes are recommended but are not required to play. Long-sleeve shirts and sweatshirts are permitted, but must be worn under the jersey. Long pants are also permitted with shinguards worn underneath. Players are not permitted to wear jewelry of any type while on the soccer field.
Registration opens on April 1st and ends on May 31st of each year. On-site registrations are held in early May of each year. United Valley Soccer also accepts registrations by mail.
In an effort to maintain a low-cost soccer program, United Valley Soccer Association conducts a fundraising campaign during each fall season. It is extremely important that all players sell fundraising items each year in order to provide low registration costs, as well as the necessary funds for the on-going maintenance and improvements being made to UVSA's Pottery Field complex. The current campaign providers are:
Frozen Food - One Stop Fundraising
