Spring 2023 Opening Day!

The fields are ready, the weather is clear, and we're excited to get the 2023 Spring Soccer Season under way!

This marks the 36th year of our existence as a league and with each year we're growing! This season we have over 215 kids signed up to play and 24 teams across the league, with (8) 6U, (6) 8U, (6) 10U, and (4) 13U teams. This Saturday, April 15th, starting at 9am we will kickoff another year of soccer for UVSA.

Due to wet field conditions in our first few weeks of practices, we opted to adjust the field layout from past years. To help with your arrival on Saturday morning, we thought it would be helpful to share an image of that layout. The red lines in the image designate the spectator sideline in which parents can view the games. As usual, please maintain approximately 5 yds from the playing field to allow for free gameplay and safe viewing.

To increase the excitement of the games this spring season, another change we're implementing is to settle all ties at the end of regulation with a traditional soccer shootout! This will apply to all 8U, 10U & 13U games. Not only to shootouts determine an ultimate winner of the game, but they add a layer of intense action at the conclusion, and excitement for the teams involved! Shootouts at the 8U level will be 3 rounds, followed by consecutive single rounds to break a tie, while 10U & 13U games will be rounds of 5 players followed by singles as needed. With this new change, we expect many exciting finishes and plenty of good times throughout the season!

Finally, there have been a few things in motion already as your children have been practicing, raffle tickets, clothing sale, and jersey handouts.
